HB Enrichment Intervention

Homebase Enrichment Program

Each teacher on the team will select an enrichment activity that they would like to teach on Wednesday and Thursday. Elective teachers have provided an assortment of at least seven activities to select from. These activities will stay constant for the teachers as students will rotate to different teachers every two weeks. Students assigned to groups will always remain with their group unless they are on the intervention list for reading and math.

Enrichment Activities

1st Rotation: September 20 - January 18, 2012

2nd Rotation: January 10-April 25, 2012

Tier I: Homebase Advisory Interventions

Tier I will be a prevention placement for individual tutoring of any student in reading and math who is not currently being served in a tier III or tier II class. These students will be eligible for a tutoring pullout program on Wednesdays and Thursdays during home-base advisory for a two week period of time. Each team will organize a list of 8 to 10 students who are having difficulty mastering an indicator in reading and/or math prior to the next mastery check. Students will remain in the program until they can demonstrate proficiency of mastery on the selected indicators. A new list of students with deficiencies will be generated by each team on the second Monday of each weekly rotation period. Please note that the same student could appear on the list twice depending on their progress toward meeting mastery. Since the intervention time during home-base advisory is a pre-concept development practice, current lesson plans for essential indicators would be relevant for small group instruction. This would allow students to receive a head start in lessons that would be introduced during a regular classroom instruction.

Foundational Math and Reading Home-base Tutoring

Any (Foundational Math and Reading) student who is not adequately making progress on a current indicator will also be provided additional time on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:05 to 8:26 A.M. Special Education teachers will be available for tutoring during these times. Foundational math and reading cut scores will be set at 60%. A list of students will be generated by the Neosho math and reading teams for prevention support opportunities for Foundational math and reading students.
